Allergies and Autism
Allergies and Autism
There is more and more research showing to link between autism and
allergies.
Studies show people with autism are shown to be
more likely to have allergies. This may be the result of the suppressed immune
system that often present with autism. It seems to be allergies such as wheat or milk, delayed-onset types, which are more closely correlated with autism. There in mounting evidence showing that correction of these allergens have a positive
effect on the symptoms of autism.
Autism can be described as a malfunction of the Central Nervous System. The Central Nervous System (CNS), which includes the Spinal Cord and the Brain, primary function interpretation of the environment, the outside world. It allows a person to function in
the environment through appropriate interactions with other people
and things. An autistic person can be characterized
as not having the capacity to appropriately perceive, understand and act in the outside world.
The immune system performs in a similar manner to the CNS, in that
it perceives its surroundings on a molecular level. Sensing specific substances and organisms, then orchestrating the proper response. Research suggests that the immune system of the autistic child in likely malfunctioning the
same way the CNS of the autistic child malfunctions. Both systems demonstrating an inability to properly interpret and use information from the
environment. Thus they respond appropriately, often by over reacting to simple, harmless stimuli.
One explanation that may explain how an allergy
may worsen autistic symptoms. Research suggests that certain foods, like milk and wheat in an allergy situation are broken down into small
proteins, called peptides. Certain peptides can have an additive effect autistic
children. You can see why many autistic children refuse to eat anything
but these foods. The food becomes the equivalent of a drug! Other allergy sufferers often display this type of behavior. They too will often over eat the foods to which they are allergic.
Some allergies (especially IgE mitigated ones) are easy to identify, as the allergic reaction occurs rapidly after exposure. Also if a person, autistic or otherwise, demonstrates obsessive behavior towards a specific food tt may be easy to identify the allergy.
It can get a good deal more challenging if the person has a slower acting IgG allergy and does not
demonstrate this behavior.
At Vitality Chiropractic & Allergy Relief, using the BAX-3000's computer guided biofeedback, we identify all possible allergies a person might have. We then use the BAX-3000's advanced cold-level laser to re-educate the immune
system to appropriately identify and react to those substances. We do not claim to cure autism. Yet there have been many reports
exceptional clinical results using this system. We welcome you to come in and determine if the
BAX-3000 may be an option for you or your child. Consultations are always free, call us today!
