Patient of the Month, Nov 2007

I have been a patient here at Vitality Chiropractic for about two years now, enjoying the benefits of Chiropractic Wellness Care, as is the rest of my family.  I came here initially, because I had been experiencing a lot of pain in my lower back.
These were pains unlike any I had ever experienced before.  I couldn’t garden, dig holes, work on my lawn or do any landscaping.  Worst of all, I had difficulty driving!  This all affected me greatly, especially considering my job is in outside sales.  My constant pain put me in a state of depression.  All I wanted was to be pain free, like I used to be.
I tried to get medical help at several different places, but no one could seem to figure out my problem.  The doctor I saw at Kaiser told me my problems were not about my back, but about my stomach.  He said if I lost my stomach, my back problems would be cured.  Though this was an idea I was willing to entertain, it didn’t seem like the correct solution.
Unsatisfied with these answers, I decided to see a chiropractor. Flipping through the phone book, I noticed Vitality Chiropractic. My mom’s name is Grace, so when I saw Dr. Grace’s name, I figured it was a good sign.  When I told some of my friends about my decision to try chiropractic, they all told me I was making a bad decision.  To them, chiropractic was “witchcraft,” and it “would never work.”  With that many people saying no, I knew I had to give it a try!  
I called and scheduled a consultation.  As soon as I walked into the office, I knew I had found the right place.  Everyone was very pleasant towards me, and very understanding of my problems.  While in my consultation with Dr. Dave, I realized that he was the first doctor that I felt truly knew what he was talking about.  
He is also the only doctor who identified my serious head and neck injuries- like whiplash.  Years before coming, I had been involved in a car accident.  While stopped at a red light, a car going about 40 miles per hour slammed into mine.  There was little damage to my vehicle, and at the time I felt fine.  It wasn’t until days later when I realized I actually wasn’t okay.  Still, two years passed before I met with Dr. Dave and he said I had whiplash.  I was amazed - I had no idea that I had been walking around with such serious injuries for the past two years! Now, my back pain is completely gone. I continue to come for regular adjustments because it helps my general well being tremendously. Coming to Vitality Chiropractic has changed my life!
